The heal before the him or her (Part 1)

To desire companionship is human. The desire for a spouse is built within us because God said, "Be fruitful and multiply". So, in us is the hunger to partake of the call. However, there is a yearning that is unhealthy. One that owes its origin to the fall of Adam.
You see, a child that feels lonely as a result of being the only one to show up to a party is a child craving companionship. Perhaps he desires comrades to play with, talk to, or simply be around. The desire for companionship is a natural occurrence. It says:
27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
(Genesis 1:27 -KJV)
First it says, "…in the image of God created he him". And then it says, "…male and female created he them". And as we read on, we see in the next chapter that Adam was the first man, from whom all men would come into manifestation. Eve herself was taken out of him. So, it has long been evident that we were one in Adam, and it is why we all fell when he ate of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Furthermore, Jesus Christ, upon dying for our sins, made way for the birth of the church, a collection of believers who shall be referenced as one body. For just as from the side (rib) of Adam God brought forth a bride in Eve, it is the same way the church (also called the bride of Christ) was birthed from the side of Jesus. For this reason, it says:
34 However, one of the soldiers pierced His side with a spear, and immediately blood and water came out.
(John 19:34)
And concerning Jesus it says:
This is the one who came by water and blood—Jesus Christ. He did not come by water only, but by water and blood
(1 John 5:6)
And concerning us it says:
But[c] God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, 5 even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ
(Ephesians 2:4-5)
To be made alive together with him is to be one with him. So that just as Adam said about Eve, "This is bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh", It is said about us:
"For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers”
(Romans 8:29)
17 … as he is so also are we in this world
(1 John 4:17b)
And just as it says about Adam and Eve: "Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh”, it says about Christ and his church:
"For, as it is written, “The two will become one flesh.” 17 But he who is joined to the Lord becomes one spirit with him."
(1 Corinthians 6:17)
Therefore, without a doubt, it is evident that God is behind the desire of men to have companionship. His very approach to creation sets things up such that man shall need man. So, Paul said:
And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.
(Hebrews 10:25)
Reader, it is fine to have a healthy yearning for companionship. We weren't designed to live the solo life. And today, if need be, if you find that you walk alone (although no child of God walks alone for God walks with all), then I encourage you to pray the prayer below:
"Dear Father, thank you that you have given me gifts in men. Thank you that you have given the man and God, Jesus, as my greatest possession. Please help me in my social life and provide for me true friends; companionship selected by you yourself. Watch over these friendships when they manifest. And let them please you for as long as you desire. In Jesus' name. Amen."
